Dr. Hyman Litman, a former resident of Duluth, Minn., died on June 10, 2004, in Saint Petersburg, Fla. at the age of 87 after a lengthy illness. He previously owned dental practices in Biwabik, Eveleth and Duluth and retired to Westin, Fla. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy where he was attached to the Marine Corps Medical Service in the South Pacific theater, and served in the Naval Reserves based in Duluth for 23 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eva Litman, a daughter, Gayle Shamblott of Minneapolis, a son, Dr. Gary Litman of Saint Petersburg, Fla., four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, his brother Norman Litman, nephews and nieces Jay Litman, Cheryl Gurovitsch, Ross Litman, Mara Koivisto and Joseph Litman, all of Duluth. SERVICE:His internment was on Sunday, June 13, at the Palms Funeral Home in Sarasota, Fla.
